  13. PPP can be used to negotiate the link and network layer protocols that
  14. are to be used.  In fact routers use PPP for just this purpose.  So one
  15. *could* select an IP connection and/or an IPX connection depending on the
  16. application.  I can think of some situations where this capability would be
  17. useful.

  19. Having said that, I don't know of any *dial-up* products that offer such
  20. a capability.

  220. winQVT can be used from Gopher, you have to have the main QVT app open,
  221. and in the telnet "viewer" use <wherever you keep qvt>\tnstart.exe.

  223. This won't work if you don't have the QVT open, so it may not be a good
  224. alternative for users who are beginners.
